Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
  • Diploma from a school of Cardiovascular Technology or graduate of a licensed Radiologic Technology school
  • Cath Lab experience required
  • RCIS Registry OR ARRT Licensure
  • BLS
  • ACLS within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Arrhythmia within 90 days of hire
  • Demonstrates experience in establishing interpersonal relationships necessary to promote an effective working environment

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years in a health care setting preferred
  • Knowledge of sterile technique preferred
  • RT with VI or CI credential preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs technical functions, patient care, and other daily functions of the cardiac catheterization lab, the procedure room, and associated areas, as assigned, by the director or supervisor.
  • Monitor, analyze, obtain, calculate and document data obtained in procedures. Alert physician to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Assist in ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, cost efficiency, providing appropriate information towards future needs, and actively supports process improvement within the department.
  • Explain testing procedures to patient in order to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Using electrocardiography (EKG) equipment to help detect issues with the heart or blood vessels.
  • Taking patient medical histories.
  • Assisting doctors with other tasks as needed during procedures.
