About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Cath Lab Technician to join their team. This is a full-time position with 4 10-hour shifts, requiring on-call duty one night per week and every fifth weekend. The role is part of Lifepoint Health, a healthcare network committed to employee well-being and providing exceptional patient care. The medical center is a 355-bed acute care facility employing over 1500 professional and clinical staff, offering a broad array of inpatient and outpatient services.

Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Current ARRT or RCIS certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position required.
  • Associate’s degree from Radiological Technology program required.
  • Equivalent years of Cath Lab Tech experience may be accepted in lieu of education requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluation overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, provider, patient and family following chain of command as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting patient's rights.
