About The Position

Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Serves adult (18-64 years) and geriatric (=>65 years) patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of Cardiovascular Program, or in lieu of degree have 10+ years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult).
• Be able to use hospital computer system.
• Knowledge of filing system.
• Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics.
• Proficiency in using Cath lab equipment.
• Patient advocate skills.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• Less than 1 year experience in cardiac cath labs and/or direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position.

Responsibilities

• Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel.
• Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility.
• Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge.
