Cath Lab Tech
About The Position
Under the general direction of a physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist), the Cath Lab Tech assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiovascular lab by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data. The role assists in invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures, prepares the procedure room, monitors instrument and supply levels, participates in staff meetings and performance-improvement activities, and helps train new staff. This is a full-time, day-shift position at Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Eight-hour options are available, and some call is required.
Requirements
- BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained as current.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Proficient computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- ARRT-R and a license as required by the state, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential.
- Completion of a cardiovascular technologist training program with an emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab.
Responsibilities
- Scrub procedures or monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during cardiovascular lab procedures under the general direction of a Cardiologist or Radiologist.
- Ensure the procedure room is adequately prepared.
- Monitor par levels of instruments and supplies.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance-improvement activities.
- Participate in training new staff.
- Assist in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
