About The Position

The Cath Lab Tech delivers patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab by performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac imaging procedures. The role coordinates critical care during complex cardiac procedures, providing diagnostic aid and support to the interdisciplinary team. The technician administers contrast media and medications, monitors patient vital signs, supports the Radiologist and clinical team with technical parameters and documentation, and follows radiation safety and quality improvement standards.

The position is based at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas, in the Cardiac Cath Labs. The schedule is days, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., working four 10-hour shifts. A sign-on bonus is available.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following credentials required before hire or job transfer: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CCI) or Cardiographic Tech specializing in Electrophysiology (CCI).
• ARRT(R) or CCI required.
• High school diploma equivalency with two years of cumulative experience, or an associate's/technical degree, or four years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac imaging procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Coordinate critical care during complex cardiac procedures and provide diagnostic aid and support to the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer contrast media and medications accurately and monitor patient vital signs during interventions.
• Support the Radiologist and clinical team by maintaining technical parameters and clinical documentation.
• Implement radiation safety protocols and quality improvement standards.
