About The Position

The Cath Lab Tech (RCIS) performs invasive cardiac, peripheral vascular diagnostic, interventional and electrophysiology procedures using sophisticated imaging, hemodynamic monitoring and recording equipment to assess and treat cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. This role requires the ability to perform all duties of a Cardiac Technologist and work with the growth and development needs of unique client populations. The position demands a thorough knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-Ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care. The technologist will utilize effective cardiac communication skills, understand change processes and conflict resolution, and possess an expert-level understanding of pharmacologic options for patient treatment. Additionally, understanding special protocols for conscious sedation is necessary. The role involves working with diverse client populations, from children to geriatrics.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology or equivalent experience is required.
Possesses expert knowledge in cardiovascular technology, including pharmacology and advanced cardiac rhythm management.
Possesses a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care.
Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 12 months of hire is required (depending on location).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire (depending on location).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable to position is preferred (depending on location).

Nice To Haves

Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 12 months of hire is preferred (if not required by location).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred (if not required by location).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable to position is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs invasive cardiac, peripheral vascular diagnostic, interventional and electrophysiology procedures.
Utilizes sophisticated imaging, hemodynamic monitoring and recording equipment to assess and treat cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
Performs all of the duties of a Cardiac Technologist.
Works with growth and development needs of unique client populations.
Utilizes effective cardiac communication skills.
Understands change process and utilizes conflict resolution.
Understands any special protocols for conscious sedation of patients.
