About The Position

While in school to obtain RCIS, the Extern assists the physician in performing invasive cardiac and electrophysiology procedures. The role includes learning Cath Lab and EP equipment and its maintenance, and providing direct and indirect care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. The intern provides cardiovascular clinical care during established procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently enrolled in a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) program.
• No experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician in performing invasive cardiac and electrophysiology procedures.
• Obtain thorough knowledge of Cath Lab and EP equipment and its maintenance.
• Administer direct and indirect care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures.
• Provide direct and indirect cardiovascular clinical care during established procedures.
