The Cath Lab Tech II operates all monitoring, recording, and related equipment during procedures, collects and prepares data for physicians and staff, and supports the medical team during procedures. This role involves monitoring patient electrocardiograms, operating defibrillators, performing CPR, and assisting in emergency situations. The technician is responsible for pre and post-procedure activities related to equipment and patient care, positioning patients, and selecting exposure factors for radiographic procedures. They identify cardiovascular and peripheral vascular anatomy, perform initial equipment troubleshooting, and arrange for maintenance. Additionally, the role includes preparing and operating imaging, angiographic, interventional, and storage systems, and scrubbing to assist physicians with diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures. The technician will also serve as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff, developing and administering competencies, and collaborating with other departments for patient care education. This position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care based on the patient's status and needs.
