Cath Lab Assistant
About The Position
Assist in pre and post catheterization patient care. Direct "hands on" care includes arterial/venous sheath removal, vital sign monitoring/measurement, preparing patients for procedures, assisting with admissions/discharges, and point of care testing. Accountable for Inventory management to include stock assessments and restocking procedure suites and pre/post unit. Cross-trained to provide support throughout the department in multiple duties which include a limited role during emergency situations. Good interpersonal skills. Flexible personality essential
Requirements
- High school or G.E.D
Nice To Haves
- 1-3 years direct patient care or hospital experience
- Monitoring, measurement, and documentation of vital signs
- Sterile technique
- Computer skills
- Inventory management
- Nurse’s Aide training or Student Nurse
- Nurse Aide certification
- BLS certification
- Obtain and monitor vital signs
- EKG and or phlebotomy certification
