About The Position

Manage on property Catering evets with F&B at Hyatt Place Las Vegas at Silverton Village and Veil Pavilion. This role will work directly with the Executive F&B Team of Silverton Casino and Dual Director of Sales of Hyatt Place Las Vegas at Silverton Village and Silverton Casino. It is the primary responsibility of the Catering Sales Manager to manage the entire event from start to finish making sure of the overall logistics of the group is flawless, including managing all communication between internal departments who are involved in the events. Generate accurate proposals, Banquet Event Orders, Price Estimates and Contracts for all assigned events. Secondary responsibility is to oversee in-house and VIP events for Hyatt Place Las Vegas at Silverton Village and Silverton Casino, excluding Marketing events. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental policies, practices and procedures. Must have experience in Event Management, Hospitality, and Food & Beverage. Must have the ability to pay attention to details and have strong interpersonal negotiating skills to handle clients, employees, and interdepartmental relationships. Overseeing billing and deposits are paid on time prior to the events and final accounts with balances on a timely manner. Must be literate in Microsoft Office, current Windows and Outlook. Knowledge in Opera and Tripleseat are preferred but not mandatory. Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, have the ability to bend from the waist, reach overhead, twist kneel, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs. without restriction. Must have the ability to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while working under pressure. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be exposed environmental factor such as frequent warm or cold temperatures, cigarette smoke, or dust.

Responsibilities

  • Actively solicit new business and respond to inquiries with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving budget goals.
  • Maintain a high level of communication between clients, all necessary departments and vendors to ensure a smooth flow from initial production meeting to final load out for all clients.
  • Act as a liaison between the group’s Point of Contact and various internal departments and assures that details are thoroughly communicated to help set-up the team for success.
  • Work with the Executive F&B & Special Events coordinator to organize technical support for all meetings, presentations, and seminars as required by the entertainment and special event clients.
  • Maintains an open communication with the Director of Sales with prospects in the pipeline, new definite groups and logistical details of definite groups.
  • Responds to all catering inquiries and drafts proposals for submission to the client within 24 business hours from receipt of the lead.
  • Maintain an active trace/follow-up system on all inquiries and sales calls via Envision.
  • Handles weekly gratuity sheets submission to Payroll.
  • Attend off-site networking/client events/tradeshows as part of the monthly sales activity goals.
  • Proactively administers weekly outside sales calls in order to solicit new business and grow the markets assigned.
  • Attends weekly sales and catering meeting and runs necessary reports to be submitted to the DOS prior to the meeting to track monthly revenue actuals and pace.
  • Adjusts schedules throughout the week to meet the business demands.
  • Tours department daily; looks for safety hazards and checks staff adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Reviews the department’s logbooks daily ensuring information is kept current and accurate.
  • Upload accurate event manifests and special event details in share drive.
  • Complete and maintain accurate pre-and-post event documentation relative to manifests, score sheets, signature envelopes.
  • Maintain files and access to highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
