About The Position
Buehler's Fresh Foods is seeking a Salaried Catering Manager for their Wooster Milltown operations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Catering Team and will be a key member of the Food Service Leadership team. The Catering Manager is accountable for the profitability of the Catering Department, establishing, developing, training, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards among all Catering employees. The position involves organizing custom orders and full-service events, aligning staffing for operational needs, working with local vendors, and planning for seasonal changes and promotions. The successful candidate will proactively resolve employee and customer issues and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. This role requires cooperation with the Catering Director, Food Service Manager, and the larger Food Service Team to develop and deliver customer-pleasing offerings.
Requirements
- Prior 2-5 years’ catering experience preferably in managing the operation as a lead or assistant manager.
- Must be available to work 45+ hours per week, including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Organizing custom orders and full-service events through effective communications, record keeping, checklists, and follow-through.
- Aligning staffing with an emphasis on recruitment and retention to meet Catering’s operational needs while making best use of Catering labor.
- Working with local rental companies, entertainment services, photographers, and event venues.
- Planning ahead for seasonal changes, holidays, special events, and promotions, with particular emphasis on organization and making the most of each opportunity.
- Proactively defining and resolving both employee and customer issues.
- Communicating well with Store associates, customers, subordinates, and others.
- Performing related duties as required or assigned.
- Working cooperatively with Catering Director, Food Service Manager and the larger Food Service Team to develop and deliver a variety of Offerings.
