About The Position

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking a part-time Catering Event Bartender for flexible shifts in the Richmond area. This role is ideal for individuals seeking occasional work, perfect for a second job. As a bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving drinks, managing payments for cash bar events, and assisting with event setup and breakdown. You will work closely with the Event Captain to ensure seamless service and contribute to a positive guest experience at corporate functions, weddings, and social events.

Requirements

• 2+ years of bartending experience, preferably in a catering/banquet setting.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to bend, twist, lift at least 50 pounds, and stand on feet for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Review the event worksheet before arriving at the event to be knowledgeable about the event details, timeline, bar type, and food.
• Check in with the Event Captain or Co-Captain upon arrival and departure from the event.
• Assist with unloading the vehicle and setting up the bar area and glassware.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests during the event.
• Answer guest questions about drink ingredients and make suggestions for beverages and cocktails.
• Verify that all guests served alcohol are of legal drinking age.
• Take payments for drinks at cash bar events using the Square app (cash or credit).
• Clean up the bar area at the end of the event and pack away remaining beverages.
• Assist with the general breakdown of the event, ensuring no debris remains and rentals are neatly stacked.
