About The Position

Directly support the Lead Baker, Asst. Executive Pastry Chef, Executive Pastry Chef. Enforce all initiatives given, oversee the production responsibilities, and provide service to Guest and Team Members in a professional, efficient and courteous manner while maintaining a clean attractive environment, in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Follow set schedules and perform assigned duties. Possess the ability to work hands-on in any kitchen environment, including those involving a three-meal period and high volume production, and bake all types of cakes, pies, pastries, breads, and tortes for Guest services according to Station Casinos Standards and Specifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management
  • Six months of in-house training as a Baker’s Helper or at least one year outside training in related fields
  • Working knowledge and basic understanding of all operations in the bakeshop
  • Ability to man 50% of the stations in the bakeshop without hesitation
  • Working knowledge and basic skills needed to safely operate bakery equipment, including but not limited to the sheeter, rack oven, and proofer
  • Working knowledge of and basic ability to use the proper tools, including but not limited to bakers’ scales and spatulas
  • Able to follow recipes accurately without supervision
  • Basic proficiency in decorating using piping jells, icings, etc.
  • Working knowledge and basic understanding necessary to mix, including but not limited to wet mixing, dry mixing, creaming, and whipping
  • Knowledge and basic understanding necessary to bake a variety of products
  • Working knowledge and basic understanding necessary to assess Banquet Event Orders without assistance
  • Basic ability to plate desserts
