About The Position

The Category Strategy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and mitigate supply chain risks. This role involves conducting market analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing the end-to-end procurement process. Additionally, the manager will lead and develop a team of procurement analysts, manage supply chain risks, and drive financial performance through cost savings initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify new opportunities for cost reduction and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to align category strategies with business needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply and continuous improvement.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, including contract terms, pricing, and service level agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and performance management.
  • Implement best practices in procurement processes, including demand planning, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage and mentor a team of procurement analysts, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Develop training and development plans to enhance team skills and capabilities in category management and procurement.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including potential disruptions, quality issues, and supplier financial stability.
  • Develop contingency plans to address supply chain risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory changes that may impact category strategies and procurement activities.
  • Drive cost savings initiatives to meet or exceed annual savings targets.
  • Analyze category spend data to identify cost drivers and develop strategies to reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Work closely with finance to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of category spend.
