About The Position

The Category and Sourcing Management Lead Consultant is accountable for both supporting and, when appropriate, leading category strategy development and execution, while managing a portfolio of strategic sourcing initiatives with medium to high spend thresholds and complexity, focusing on quality, cost, delivery, risk, sustainability, and supplier inclusion. This role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to align strategies with business objectives and market conditions, challenge and rationalize requirements, including demand and specifications, researching and analyze market and business insights to provide actionable recommendations that drive value creation. The Lead Consultant will employ proficiency in driving increasingly difficult projects while maturing practitioner skills to evolve from purposeful use of knowledge (proficiency) to creative use of knowledge and skills (innovation). This role is an individual contributor but may lead work performed by others. This role will focus on outsourcing of service categories including travel, meetings and events, logistics, and delivery of new customer-facing programs. Work may expand into other category areas. Experience supporting travel, meetings and events is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of enterprise category and/or supplier strategies that align with business product/technology goals and incorporate relevant market intelligence.
  • Collect and analyze internal and external category data to support data-driven decision making, translating market research competitive insights into high-quality, high-impact procurement solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing and/or category strategies that maximize value for Allstate, aligned to market conditions and stakeholder's rationalized requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop clear scopes of work and contractual metrics (e.g., KPIs, SLAs) leading to effective negotiations and related contractual outcomes.
  • Uphold a proficient understanding of contracting and the legal commercial environment to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Display proficiency in procurement technology platforms (e.g. e-sourcing, spend analysis, contract management) required to enhance efficiency and optimize processes.
  • Develop negotiation strategies with stakeholders and ensure stakeholder alignment, effectively influencing decisions at all levels as required.
  • Employ contemporary commercial contracting practices with proficiency in negotiating favorable contract terms in partnership with Allstate Legal, when deemed appropriate.
  • Partner with Enterprise Risk & Return Management and Supplier Management to ensure risk management and supplier performance management practices, ongoing monitoring, and issue resolution, including supplier on-boarding/off-boarding, are incorporated.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, where appropriate, to maximize value for the company.
