About The Position

We are seeking a highly driven, business-minded Category Manager to own the end-to-end performance of our Freeze Dried and Air Dried Dog Food categories. This role carries full accountability for P&L, growth strategy, and execution, spanning merchandising, marketing, and operational levers. In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of analytics, vendor partnerships, and ecommerce execution, with high visibility and a direct impact on revenue growth and customer experience. This is an opportunity to think and act like a General Manager, not just a functional contributor. If you’re energized by ownership, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want to scale a business within a customer-obsessed, high-growth company, this role is built for you.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in category management, brand management, or similar commercial roles
  • Strong blend of analytical skills, business ownership, and vendor interaction
  • Experience in ecommerce, retail, or related category environments
  • Demonstrated business acumen across pricing, assortment, promotions, and P&L ownership
  • Proven ability to manage vendors across a variety of business sizes (head, torso, and tail), and allocate time and resources accordingly
  • Data-driven mindset with a track record of turning insights into action
  • Success operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scaling new or emerging brands or categories
  • Exposure to supply chain, forecasting, and inventory planning
  • Track record of launching new products or go-to-market strategies
  • Background in tech-enabled retail (e.g., marketplaces, DTC)
  • Strong operator mindset—able to execute, not just strategize
  • Comfort with ambiguity and using data to guide decisions
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment
  • Demonstrated success in growing revenue or improving category performance

Responsibilities

  • Own category P&L and performance against sales, margin, and growth targets; manage budgets, forecasts, and corrective action plans.
  • Develop and execute strategies across pricing, assortment, promotions, and merchandising
  • Analyze category, brand, SKU, and customer performance to identify growth opportunities, diagnose business gaps, and prioritize investment.
  • Build and manage vendor relationships, including negotiations and joint business planning. Lead business review performance and share actionable recommendations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and operations to deliver results
  • Identify and launch new products or initiatives to accelerate category growth
  • Continuously optimize the customer experience while driving commercial outcomes

Benefits

  • Equal opportunity employer
