About The Position

The Category Manager at OneMain is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end sourcing process within their assigned Procurement category. This includes developing and executing category strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance while ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives. The Category Manager will lead supplier management relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive category performance improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, strategic sourcing expertise, and the ability to manage complex Procurement activities from start to finish.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong understanding of category management principles Procurement processes, and best practices, including experience in RFP drafting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights.
  • Proven negotiation skills with experience in managing high value contracts and supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and leading strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Procurement software and tools.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical procurement practices.

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Experience with S2P Platforms such as Coupa

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category strategies that drive value, cost savings, and quality improvements for the assigned category.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to understand industry trends, supplier capabilities and competitive landscape within the category.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure alignment with category strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and legal teams, to understand business needs and ensure category strategies support those needs.
  • Lead the end-to-end sourcing process for the category, including the preparation and management of RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring that suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long term partnership and continuous improvement.
