About The Position

Our Opportunity: We are seeking a highly driven, business-minded Category Manager to own the end-to-end performance of our Freeze Dried and Air Dried Dog Food categories. This role carries full accountability for P&L, growth strategy, and execution, spanning merchandising, marketing, and operational levers. In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of analytics, vendor partnerships, and ecommerce execution, with high visibility and a direct impact on revenue growth and customer experience. This is an opportunity to think and act like a General Manager, not just a functional contributor. If you’re energized by ownership, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want to scale a business within a customer-obsessed, high-growth company, this role is built for you.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in category management, brand management, or similar commercial roles
  • Strong blend of analytical skills, business ownership, and vendor interaction
  • Experience in ecommerce, retail, or related category environments
  • Demonstrated business acumen across pricing, assortment, promotions, and P&L ownership
  • Proven ability to manage vendors across a variety of business sizes (head, torso, and tail), and allocate time and resources accordingly
  • Data-driven mindset with a track record of turning insights into action
  • Success operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scaling new or emerging brands or categories
  • Exposure to supply chain, forecasting, and inventory planning
  • Track record of launching new products or go-to-market strategies
  • Background in tech-enabled retail (e.g., marketplaces, DTC)
  • Strong operator mindset—able to execute, not just strategize
  • Comfort with ambiguity and using data to guide decisions
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment
  • Demonstrated success in growing revenue or improving category performance

Responsibilities

  • Own category P&L and performance against sales, margin, and growth targets; manage budgets, forecasts, and corrective action plans.
  • Develop and execute strategies across pricing, assortment, promotions, and merchandising
  • Analyze category, brand, SKU, and customer performance to identify growth opportunities, diagnose business gaps, and prioritize investment.
  • Build and manage vendor relationships, including negotiations and joint business planning.
  • Lead business review performance and share actionable recommendations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and operations to deliver results
  • Identify and launch new products or initiatives to accelerate category growth
  • Continuously optimize the customer experience while driving commercial outcomes

Benefits

  • Equal opportunity employer
  • Consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, gender, citizenship, marital status, religion, age, disability, gender identity, results of genetic testing, veteran status, as well as any other legally-protected characteristic.
  • Accommodation during the application process or to perform job requirements if you have a disability or require religious accommodation.
