About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity to join Mativ’s Global Sourcing Team, as a Category Manager, Indirect. The Category Manager for Indirect is an experienced member of Mativ’s Global Sourcing team, charged with driving compelling results and value to the business through strategic procurement activities. This role will support the broader vision of the Global Procurement Organization. The Category Manager will be responsible for assigned categories, including but not limited to Office Supply, Peripherals, Marketing, Professional Associations/Subscription, Travel, Document management, Sundries. The Category Manager will help Mativ meet strategic goals related to growth, cost savings, and risk management. This role will serve as a liaison between Mativ and its suppliers during competitive sourcing processes. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering strong results that support the category strategy and provide significant value to the business. The ideal candidate should possess a track record of distinctive sourcing results across a diverse set of stakeholders and categories.

Requirements

• B.S/B. A from four-year accredited college or university
• 5+ years of experience conducting strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations, with demonstrated success in indirect corporate expense categories.
• Experience in data-driven and strategic cross-functional efforts, with success in managing projects and influencing business unit stakeholders
• Exceptional analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize appropriately to meet internal customer and company needs
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; capable of partnering with Mativ’s leadership team in driving strategic sourcing initiatives
• Capable of working independently to achieve and exceed goals and targets
• Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (word processing, email, PowerPoint, Excel, spreadsheet, database, and Internet)
• Results-driven with demonstrated successful outcomes
• Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills
• Experience managing corporate travel programs in a multinational environment
• Knowledge of global travel industry, systems (e.g., Concur, SAP), and compliance standards
• Proven results managing travel supplier relationships (Airline, Hotel, Car Rental, etc.) to secure favorable rates and contracts
• Experience owning and managing GPO contracts

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage sourcing strategies for assigned categories, including spend analysis, benchmarking, cost, market analysis and technology/economic trends to ensure best cost of ownership as well as optimum service levels
• Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to create strategic sourcing models that optimize the value of products and services that support business unit requirements to maintain continuous cost reduction programs for controllable expenditures.
• Communicate, manage, provide solutions and drive compliance to category strategies
• Management of contracts ensuring performance of the supplier to contract obligations.
• Understand interrelationships between contracts and terms while applying creativity and sound business reasoning to interpret the application of contracts to business needs
• Utilize negotiations to maximize value and cost savings benefits while lowering risk
• Create and implement related management programs to develop, continuously improve, manage the performance of, and monitor KPIs of the supply base
• Responsible for advanced quantitative analysis to identify financial impacts of decisions and performance for category managed.
• Perform business process analysis and develop models to improve cost.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and measure the appropriate criteria, such as delivery of business results, cost reduction, quality, and timeliness of delivery
• Conduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned categories
• Place purchase orders and resolve invoices issues related to assigned categories
