About The Position

Cintas is seeking a Category Manager II to be responsible for developing the sourcing strategy to meet the needs of internal customers and stakeholders. Responsibilities include using critical negotiating and competitive bidding skills to deliver cost control and reduction with current and prospective suppliers; managing supplier contracts and continuous supplier performance evaluation relative to business needs and market conditions; analyzing category spend to initiate restructuring of vendor base to achieve cost savings goals; seeking continuous improvement to drive innovation for all products within assigned product categories.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and intranet/internet

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2+ years’ Supply Chain experience
  • 5+ years’ sourcing/purchasing experience

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain Purchase Agreements, and supplier business reviews.
  • Understand external markets and competitiveness and technical constraints of the supply base. Ensure deep understanding of business needs to support market analysis.
  • Stay abreast of commodity prices that are significant drivers in the cost of products and the impact that commodity cost changes have on unit cost.
  • Establish and negotiate contracts with suppliers that specifically define business requirements related to service, quality, costing, etc.
  • Regularly evaluate potential risks within categories and verify that prospecting/resourcing efforts are appropriately prioritized.
  • Evaluate suppliers’ performance relative to current business needs, and against other suppliers.
  • Review spend categories and identify and achieve annual savings goals.
