About The Position

In this role, you will serve as the category expert for an assigned portfolio of Facilities and Construction products and services for internal and external stakeholders. You will manage a competitive contract portfolio by driving the strategy and development of the agreements to help providers elevate cost performance and achieve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 2 or more years of relevant experience required.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage both small and large audiences, convey category insights, and influence decision-making with clients and internal partners.
• Demonstrated financial acumen in managing expense and revenue budgets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Based in Irving, TX, this hybrid role includes three days per week in the office.
• Willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

• Strategic sourcing or category management experience related to Facilities and Construction in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of contract development, sourcing, or negotiation processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Vizient Contract Managers to develop a strategic approach to RFP development, negotiation plans, marketing strategies, and implementation of agreements.
• Develop a deep understanding of the products, suppliers, and industry trends that impact the portfolio through market research, attendance at industry events, and continuous learning opportunities.
• Provide expertise to various audiences regarding the spend categories managed.
• Develop and manage relationships with members and suppliers to ensure satisfaction through effective, timely communication and problem resolution.
• Create category-specific collateral to share insights, expertise, and best practices with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead periodic business reviews and strategic planning meetings with suppliers for categories in the portfolio, with support from leadership.
