This role supports and executes the implementation of US Foods division category strategy across a defined Area. The Category Manager is responsible for executing recommended assortment changes, supporting positive local vendor relationships, and assisting Area and DC sales staff with product assortment updates and merchandising goals. The position also supports local customer requirements in alignment with national strategies. Key responsibilities include developing implementation plans for category strategy, reviewing product assortment for penetration and growth opportunities, driving profitable sales growth, requesting exception SKUs, and ensuring alignment with US Foods category strategy while reducing SKU duplication. The role involves gathering local market data, reporting new product opportunities, facilitating product training, supporting FSQA inquiries, and assisting with major Area-specific account bids.
