About The Position

The Category & Shopper Insights Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the growth of Congo Brands' portfolio across the United States and Canada, including PRIME, Lunchly, Animal Love, and future innovation launches. This role combines category management, shopper insights, retail analytics, and business intelligence to identify growth opportunities, influence strategic decision-making, and support key retailer and distributor partnerships. This role supports both the United States and Canadian businesses and offers significant exposure to executive leadership, major retail partners, category management, shopper insights, and commercial strategy. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, commercially minded, and passionate about transforming data into actionable business recommendations that drive growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years in Category Management, Shopper Insights, Sales Analytics, Revenue Management, Business Intelligence, or similar analytical roles within CPG, retail, beverage, or consumer goods. Exceptional recent graduates with strong analytical and technical capabilities may also be considered.
  • Advanced Power BI skills are required; Power BI certification is considered an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs, Power Query, and Power Pivot.
  • Proven ability to build automated reporting and visualization solutions using Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to transform complex data into actionable insights and compelling business recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success developing customer-facing presentations, category reviews, retailer business cases, and sales support materials.
  • Working knowledge of syndicated data platforms such as Circana, NielsenIQ, SPINS, or IRI is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with shopper and consumer panel data sources such as Numerator is considered an asset.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for consumer packaged goods and emerging brands.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, shopper behavior, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities, risks, and growth drivers across all Congo Brands categories.
  • Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to support business planning, retailer strategies, innovation, pricing, assortment, distribution, and promotional decisions.
  • Monitor category, consumer, and industry trends to provide proactive recommendations that strengthen Congo Brands' market position.
  • Develop compelling data-driven narratives and presentations for executive leadership, sales teams, distributors, and retail partners.
  • Develop customer-facing category reviews, line reviews, assortment recommendations, and business cases to support key retail partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, retailers, distributors, and category management partners.
  • Own the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of reporting and visualization capabilities across syndicated and internal data sources.
  • Design and manage Power BI dashboards, scorecards, automated reporting solutions, and executive reporting packages to improve commercial decision-making.
  • Lead reporting initiatives utilizing Circana, NielsenIQ, SPINS, retailer POS, and internal sales data.
  • Manage ad hoc reporting requests and identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency through automation and process optimization.
  • Serve as a key user and subject matter expert for syndicated data platforms including Circana, NielsenIQ, and SPINS.
  • Support item maintenance, new item submissions, data quality reviews, and ongoing relationships with syndicated data providers.
  • Utilize shopper and household panel data, including Numerator and related tools, to identify consumer trends, purchase behavior, and category opportunities.
  • Support the development and distribution of monthly business performance scorecards and syndicated reporting packages.
  • Highlight key performance drivers, emerging trends, opportunities, and risks to leadership teams across North America.
