About The Position

The position of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) & Admission and Development Coordinator requires knowledge of a Catholic philosophy of education and a Christ-like respect and fairness in dealing with others. In collaboration with the Principal and Pastor, this role aims to advance St. Mary’s School by fostering positive relationships within the school community and beyond. The coordinator will promote the mission and vision of St. Mary’s Catholic School and the core beliefs, values, and traditions of the Catholic Church through all related literature, media, and public relations activities. This role also includes serving as the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd teacher within the school schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree.
  • Certified Atrium CGS
  • Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in written and oral form and effectively communicate/present information to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret data, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to orally and effectively communicate/present information to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to define problems, gather, analyze and synthesize data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Commitment to a Catholic philosophy of education.
  • Participate in community organizations
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Marketing, public relations or communications major preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate lessons with the DRE director in setting up weekly lessons for the school children.
  • Serve alongside the principal in coordination of the admissions and public relations program for the school.
  • Develop effective marketing strategies for school advancement, new student recruitment, financial donations, grants, or other monetary rewards.
  • Coordinate the Admissions process: Advertising, Design and prepare application materials, Admission Information Events, Conduct Tours, Provide accurate information to potential applicants.
  • Submit new applicants to the Principal for admission.
  • Generate the entire acceptance packet.
  • Record in school database date of acceptance.
  • Retain the student file until registration packet is returned by the prospective family.
  • Forward student file and completed registration packet to Registrar for data entry.
  • Coordinate with high schools information necessary for 8th grade students high school enrollment.
  • Design, implement, and manage all fundraising activities.
  • Maintain contact with and develop grant proposals for foundations and corporations.
  • Develop and implement parent and class-based fundraising programs within the Annual Fund.
  • Design, organize, and facilitate major community fundraising events and community events.
  • Serve as the lead organizer of the Mardi Gras Gala.
  • Facilitate communication for all school fundraisers.
  • Coordinate parent volunteers and homeroom moms.
  • Develop necessary fundraising training for leadership volunteers.
  • Assume responsibility for all Development reports to the Board and other agencies, and attend all Board meetings.
  • Assist the Board with recommending and researching potential new members.
  • Teach once a week Catechesis of the Good Shepard Atrium class to St. Mary’s school students.
  • Coordinate publicity and public relations events through collaboration with the Communications and Public Relations Specialist and other members of the administrative team.
