Cat Sitter
About The Position
The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers for a part-time, independent contractor position as an in-home cat sitter in the Bronx / NYC Metro Area. This role offers flexibility, allowing sitters to set their own availability and service area. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy independent work, caring for cats, and providing peace of mind to pet parents. Sitters will build trust with repeat clients and perform various care tasks. Service types include drop-in visits (30/45/60 minutes, 1-3 times daily), extended daytime visits (2-8 hours), overnights (10-hour stays), and 24-hour live-in care. Availability on weekends, holidays, and during mornings, afternoons, and evenings is particularly valued.
Requirements
- Experienced with cat care, especially in a pet sitting capacity
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Strong written communication
- Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
- Smartphone with reliable internet & camera
- Medication experience (oral, injections, fluids)
- Holiday & weekend availability
Responsibilities
- Feeding cats and refreshing water
- Cleaning litter boxes
- Giving playtime, affection, or companionship based on each cat’s personality
- Sending visit updates and photos through our app
- Following each client’s detailed care instructions
- Bringing in mail or packages
- Adjusting lights, blinds, or trash/recycling when requested
- Administering medication when within your experience and comfort level
