The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • New Jersey Radiology Technologist License.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
  • Certification in computed tomography required and must obtain CAT Scan certification within one year of hire.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to perform on-call, holiday, and weekend work when required.
  • Must be trained and experienced in operating CT equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards and acts as a resource to other technologists to ensure optimal patient care and efficient departmental operations.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of computerized tomography imaging principles and theory, anatomy, positioning, and technique for obtaining optimal imaging studies.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of venipuncture techniques and practices for the administration of intravenous contrast media.
  • Performs excellent patient care.
  • Recognizes clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome.
  • Demonstrates protection and safety for patients and staff as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines pertaining to radiation safety.
  • Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
  • Maintains radiation exposure reading within ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) limits.
  • Demonstrates patient safety by use of guard rails, breaking mechanisms, shielding, and patient monitoring, as demonstrated by observation by peers, supervisor, manager, or director.
  • Assists physicians in the performance of various studies using standard department protocols and appropriate protective actions and infection control procedures.
  • Identifies correctly patients and files ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
  • Enters written and electronic data accurately in comments to provide all pertinent data to radiologists to assist in the interpretation of imaging studies.
  • Adheres to department policies and protocols to ensure that all studies are optimized for interpretation.
  • Ensures daily quality control and assurance to CAT Scan Equipment.
  • Reports any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions.
