About The Position

Contributes to the Hospital’s mission to care, heal and to excel in service to our community by independently performing Computerized Tomography (CT) examinations meeting ACR imaging standards and maintaining safety standards using state-of-the-art CT scanners, power injectors, PACS, and other related medical imaging equipment. This professional technologist position will have an impact on quality, safety and patient experience.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology
  • One year diagnostic technology experience
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team
  • ARRT registered in Radiology and CT
  • Massachusetts State license in Radiology and CT
  • BLS

  • Advance education in CAT scan technology
  • One year of CT experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform safety and quality checks, including verifying exam orders.
  • Complete CT examinations following established exam protocols-established by CT Radiologist.
  • Enter examinations correctly, ensuring accurate and informative documentation and appropriate charges are entered.
  • Electronically send and store images and data appropriately in PACS.
  • Follow departmental procedures for maintaining records and logs to monitor quality and safety in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Perform equipment cleaning and maintain a safe work environment presenting the best possible impression of facilities and fostering our culture of safety.
  • Address supply and equipment issues to ensure optimum operations, equipment quality and long-term equipment maintenance and life.
  • Transport and provide ambulatory assistance to patients as necessary.
  • Inform patients and family members throughout the patients' experience.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team utilizing established handoff procedures.
  • Give and accept respectful feedback to enhance teamwork and the clinical training experience.
  • Minimize preventable harm events and consistently execute the infection control protocols.
  • Incorporate the Culture of Safety tools in daily practice, adhering to quality and safety guidelines and communicating near-miss or potential risks.
