About The Position

The CAT Scan Tech manipulates computerized tomographical radiological equipment and applies knowledge of patient positioning, anatomy, and physiology to acquire and process images. The role tracks each study and handles PACS acquisition of studies performed. The technologist uses radiation-protection devices, selects technical factors to produce optimum-quality images, processes those images, and performs other duties consistent with providing quality computerized tomographical services.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.
• Registered with A.R.R.T. in Radiology.
• State licensed in radiology by the LSRT.
• Obtain CT registration within one year of hire.
• Current BLS certification through an ILCOR-provided course, including a manikin check-off.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with patients of all types and ages.
• Strong guest-relations skills.
• Good physical health and ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods; lift at least 50 pounds; and work with a moderate level of noise.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a CT department with multi-slice technology is preferred.
