Requirements

NYS radiographer's license
Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technology
BLS required
Completion of Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school
Knowledge and working experience in Computerized Tomography required.

Responsibilities

Responsible for interpreting the doctor's orders as to the type of radiography or treatment for the patient
Positions and instructs patients on procedures being performed
Administer non-injectable contrast material for routine radiographs and observe for reaction
Operate stationary and mobile x-ray equipment; process and review radiographs for quality and perform other duties as assigned.
Performs a variety of clinical and research MDCT procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and imitative.
The technologists will produce and evaluate CT images for technical quality, properly identifies images and patient and effectively uses judgment for protocols and procedures.
Perform and log daily QA
Medication oversight which includes documentation of delivery of contrast media.
Adheres to St. Francis hospital and departmental policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements.
