Cat Scan & MRI Technologist
About The Position
The Cat Scan & MRI Technologist performs a variety of CAT scan and MRI procedures, exercising independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The technologist produces and evaluates CT/MRI images for technical quality, correctly identifies images and patients, and uses sound judgment when selecting protocols and procedures. The role follows St. Francis Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, along with JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements, and demonstrates and promotes service excellence. The position is at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center, a member of Catholic Health.
Requirements
- NYS radiographer's license.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
- Knowledge and working experience in computerized axial tomography and MRI.
- BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of CAT scan and MRI procedures using independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
- Produce and evaluate CT/MRI images for technical quality.
- Properly identify images and patients.
- Use judgment in selecting protocols and procedures.
- Adhere to hospital and departmental policies and procedures and JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Demonstrate and promote service excellence.
