The role handles complex liability claims requiring additional investigation and verification, including casualty claims involving severe injuries, extended disability, bodily injury, and coverage-related litigation. Requirements

3–5 years of casualty claims experience.
Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
Excellent negotiation, communication, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to pass written examinations required by state statutes to become a licensed claims adjuster.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

Review each assigned file and determine an appropriate course of action using technical knowledge and experience to support the final disposition of the loss.
Conduct thorough investigations and maintain accurate, relevant documentation of claim activity, including applicable coverage, liability status, and damages.
Process bodily injury and coverage claims in accordance with established office procedures.
Work with third parties, plaintiff counsel, the Claim Director, and the Chief Operating Officer to determine necessary injury and coverage investigations.
Research case and statutory law to conduct proper claim investigations.
Document policy status, coverage, liability, and damages on all claims, and notify the reinsurer on qualifying claims.
Prepare and present claim evaluations for the appropriate settlement authority.
Maintain reasonable expense factors.
Handle other duties as assigned.
