About The Position

Future RNs can get their foot in the door at Nebraska's top-rated hospital. This role allows you to gain hands-on experience, build confidence, learn from experienced RNs, and observe clinical skills, critical thinking, and teamwork in real time. After a mandatory training period, flexibility is offered in this role, with most in-patient units available. This position is open to CNA-certified students within the Metro Area Academic Institutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age required.
  • Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska required.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
  • Ability to work a minimum of 1 shifts every two weeks (shift flexibility)
  • Start date December 14th or 21st
  • Mandatory Monday - Thursday orientation/training period for the first week

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Based on department need, Medication Aide certification and completion of an Injectables course may be required after hire in outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patient's plan of care.
