About The Position

Enprotech Industrial Technologies is seeking a Castor Assembly professional for their 2nd shift. This role involves the assembly and disassembly of large steel equipment, utilizing blueprints, manuals, and technical knowledge. The position requires proficiency with various hand and power tools, as well as in-process inspection equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with solvents and paints, perform shot blasting, and operate a drill press. Knowledge of piping and tubing for lubrication and hydraulic systems is necessary for disassembly. The role also requires the safe operation of overhead cranes and forklifts, and the ability to work in physically demanding conditions with grease and grime. Responsibilities include aligning components, removing high spots, smoothing surfaces, setting up and operating machinery to verify functionality, and installing auxiliary equipment. The position also involves forming, bending, and fastening piping and tubing for air, water, and oil systems, and potentially bending and installing pipe for hydraulic systems. Teamwork and effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, and engineers are essential. A strong safety awareness is also a key requirement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years mechanical assembly and disassembly experience.
  • Mechanical ability to proficiently use cranes and other heavy tools and equipment.
  • Own tools of the trade, and the ability to use them effectively.
  • Ability to use judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes within the limitations of established or standard methods and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret customer prints well enough to determine sequence for a variety of heavy equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to use basic shop math.
  • Possess the physical strength and ability to safely handle heavy equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and tubing.
  • Able to wear a respirator during painting and shot blast process.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble large pieces of steel equipment.
  • Assemble and fit components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction.
  • Read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
  • Read and understand ID/OD Micrometers, Calibers, radius gages, parallels, and Telescopic measures.
  • Use a variety of in-process inspection equipment and assembly tools.
  • Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments.
  • Work with solvents and paints and apply them in a proper manner.
  • Perform shot blast and paint operations.
  • Use a drill press to tap/drill holes per the layout.
  • Understand piping and tubing for lube and hydraulic process required for disassembly.
  • Mechanically use overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
  • Work with grease and grime under relatively adverse physical conditions.
  • Align components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolt, screw, or dowel using hand tools, or arrange for assembly by welder and electrician.
  • Remove high spots, and smooth surfaces, using chisels, scrapers, files, and powered hand grinder.
  • Assemble, set up, and operate machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
  • Form, bend and fasten piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machine with air, water, and oil.
  • Bend and install pipe for hydraulic systems.
  • Work as a member of a team in the fabrication process.
  • Verify alignment and tolerances of moving parts, using measuring instruments.
  • Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and work them to test free movement and operation of assembly by hand.
  • Test or assist in testing operation of completed product.
  • Align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
  • Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment.
  • Cut and fit pipe and tubing.
  • Verbally communicate with team members, supervisors, and Engineers.
  • Maintain good safety awareness techniques.
