About The Position

Enprotech Industrial Technologies is seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a Castor Assembler on the 2nd Shift. We are the largest supplier of repair, rebuilding, and field services for the metal forming and steel industry in North America. Our facilities are equipped to provide exceptional engineering, machining, welding, fabrication, and machine assembly and disassembly capabilities. This role involves assembling and disassembling large pieces of steel equipment, fitting components according to blueprints, manuals, and sketches, and using hand and power tools to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment.

Requirements

  • Mechanical ability to proficiently use cranes and other heavy tools and equipment.
  • Own tools of the trade.
  • Ability to use judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions regarding the sequence of operations and processes within established or standard methods and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret customer prints to determine the sequence for a variety of heavy equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to use basic shop math.
  • Physical strength and ability to safely handle heavy equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and tubing.
  • Ability to wear a respirator during painting and shot blast processes.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of mechanical assembly and disassembly experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble large pieces of steel equipment.
  • Assemble and fit components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment.
  • Read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
  • Read and understand ID/OD Micrometers, Calipers, radius gages, parallels, and Telescopic measures.
  • Use a variety of in-process inspection equipment and assembly tools.
  • Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints using measuring instruments.
  • Work with solvents and paints and apply them properly.
  • Shot blast and paint equipment.
  • Use a drill press to tap/drill holes per the layout.
  • Understand piping and tubing for lube and hydraulic processes required for disassembly.
  • Mechanically use overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
  • Work with grease and grime under relatively adverse physical conditions.
  • Align components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolt, screw, or dowel them using hand tools, or arrange for assembly by welder and electrician.
  • Remove high spots and smooth surfaces using chisels, scrapers, files, and powered hand grinders.
  • Assemble, set up, and operate machines to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications.
  • Form, bend, and fasten piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machines with air, water, and oil.
  • Bend and install pipe for hydraulic systems.
  • Work as a member of the fabrication process team.
  • Verify alignment and tolerances of moving parts using measuring instruments.
  • Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and work them to test free movement and operation of assembly by hand.
  • Test or assist in testing the operation of the completed product.
  • Align and mesh gears in gearboxes to assemble systems of gears.
  • Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment.
  • Cut and fit pipe and tubing.
  • Verbally communicate with team members, supervisors, and engineers.
  • Maintain good safety awareness techniques.
