About The Position

The Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) in UVA’s School of Education seeks applicants for multiple wage Data Collector positions. The Data Collector assists with field-based activities of multiple CASTL projects, as assigned, which typically include 1:1 direct student assessment, data entry, and data upload using project guidelines. Areas for hire include Carroll, Frederick, Patrick, Scott, Washington, and Wise counties. The position may be listed as remote because it is not on campus at UVA. Travel to participating schools using own reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed) is required. Training is provided (in Charlottesville) and sessions may include a combination of video-conference and in-person meetings. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience working with children in an educational setting or an out-of-school setting (such as a summer camp or an after-school program).
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot technology.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Use of the internet.
  • Proficiency with laptops, tablets and/or PCs.
  • Experience uploading/downloading information using cloud storage platforms.
  • Own reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Education, or related field.
  • Availability minimum of 3 full days (8am-3pm) per week.
