This position involves working in various areas to remove cores from castings using appropriate procedures such as core removal or acid processing. The operator is responsible for carrying pieces in baskets to the core removal area, placing them in correct vessels, and routinely monitoring pressure, temperature, water, and cycle parameters to ensure proper operation. The role includes running multiple Core Removal vessels that utilize Potassium Hydroxide, strictly adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent injuries. Key tasks also encompass removing cores from internal cavities of castings, loading and unloading acid baskets, setting appropriate cycle times, checking water levels, exposing grain for proper evaluation, emptying tanks of acid or water, cleaning the work area, and thoroughly washing and rinsing parts with hot pressurized water to eliminate any residual acid or Potassium Hydroxide.
