About The Position

Purpose within the Organization: The purpose of this position is to assist the Food Services department by acting as a cashier for the Canyon activity center Store on 33rd Ave. This position will also help to develop and maintain excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as establish a safe and positive work environment. Responsibilities Related to Purpose: Provides attentive and responsive customer service. May arrange merchandise to make attractive displays. Records all sales, collects money, operates a cash register and follows all cash handling procedures as required. Maintains required stock of products and may participate in ordering, inventory, and stocking activities. Always be a team player and help out others where help is needed. Complete daily tasks in a timely manner and other assigned duties as assigned. Communicate all and any discrepancy if any. Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times. Qualifications: Must be able to work weekday mornings, evenings, and weekends. Must have a Maricopa County Food Handler’s Card and Non-slip Shoes. Prior Customer Service and/or Food Service experience a plus. Must be able to handle the stress of meeting changing deadlines in a fast paced environment. Superior telephone skills. Ability to quickly grasp and utilize new concepts and technology. Outstanding ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as a in a team environment. Exceptional ability to organize information and pay attention to detail. Education: Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
