About The Position

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a Part-Time Cashier to join their team. This role involves processing member purchases accurately and courteously, handling various payment methods, and providing excellent customer service. The cashier will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the front-line department and assisting members with self-checkout stations. Team members are expected to uphold club policies, act with honesty and integrity, and contribute to a safe and positive environment. The role requires a commitment to delivering exceptional member service and adhering to club standards, including greeting members, ensuring a fast and friendly experience, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Requirements

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.
• Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces.
• There may be a need to occasionally position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping.
• Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds.
• May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance.
• Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.
• There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

• Verifies, renews, upgrades, and offers various membership products.
• Scans merchandise and accepts various forms of payments.

• Exhibits clear understanding of all BJ’s Membership options, including the importance of renewals and upgrading to BJ’s Loyalty programs.
• Offers all appropriate membership products such as membership renewal, EASY renewal option, BJ’s Loyalty programs, and Rewards redemption.
• Checks Members out in a timely and efficient manner.
• Fills shopping carts when necessary and assists at self-checkout stations.
• Collects payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from members.
• Issues receipts or change due to Members.
• Stays up to date on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information.
• Discounts purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons.
• Assists in general club housekeeping when necessary.
• Returns re-sellable merchandise to the sales floor area.
• Manages self-checkout and scan and pan lanes.
• Assists Members with operations and technical difficulties.
• Meets cashier productivity expectations.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintains regular, predictable, full attendance.
