About The Position

Mackenthun's Cashiers perform Cashier functions according to department standards and processes. Cashiers promote Mackenthun's Exceptional customer Experience by greeting each customer with a smile, offering assistance, and working with other employees as needed.

Requirements

• Must express a positive, friendly attitude, focus on customer needs, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team, have solid problem-solving skills and excellent decision-making capabilities.
• Must have an interest in selling food and promoting Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience for customers and coworkers.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must have excellent communication skills including reading, speaking, and writing the English language.
• Must be willing to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun's offers.
• Minimize company losses due to poor customer service, inaccurate processing of orders, and improper product handling.
• Ability to prioritize and efficiently perform duties; be accurate, honest, and dependable.
• Perform all duties in a manner that safeguards company property, resources, and image.

Nice To Haves

• Prior retail experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process customer orders at the check-out, accept payments, and provide the correct change as necessary.
• Offer assistance, answer customer questions, and ensure customers' purchases are promptly and properly bagged. This includes bagging groceries as needed.
• Assist with/conduct selling events.
• Cross-train in the Service Center.
• Keep the cash drawer balanced and organized.
• Assist with stocking products, facing shelves, general store maintenance, and cleaning.
• Other duties as requested.
