About The Position

This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing sales transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store. The Cashier will operate the POS system, handle cash and coupons, and promote the "Change Round-up" program to support the Memphis Goodwill mission. Responsibilities also include maintaining store appearance, assisting with promotions, stocking merchandise, ensuring safety, training new staff, and adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Ability to greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
Proficiency in operating a POS system.
Accurate cash handling skills.
Ability to process coupons and discounts.
Understanding of the "Change Round-up" program.
Ability to clean and maintain store appearance.
Ability to stock and maintain merchandise displays.
Knowledge of safe work practices.
Ability to communicate safety hazards.
Willingness to assist in training new employees.
Ability to clean dressing rooms and re-hang clothes.
Ability to place and rotate merchandise on the sales floor.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Follow good safety practices.
Report safety hazards and injuries.
Adherence to policies regarding theft, pilferage, and cash receipts.
Perform duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
Willingness to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
Attend assigned training.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner, offering assistance.
Operate the POS system for accurate and efficient sales data entry.
Handle all cash transactions accurately, including processing coupons and discounts.
Ensure customers are asked to round up their change for the "Change Round-up" program.
Maintain cleanliness of front doors, counters, glass, cases, and the front of the store.
Return shopping carts, baskets, and unsold merchandise to appropriate areas.
Assist with promotions, including customer information, postings, and special sign displays.
Stock and maintain counter, showcases, and cash/wraps in a neat and clean condition.
Work safely, adhere to proper handling of material movement equipment, and report safety hazards.
Assist in training new cashiers.
Clean dressing rooms and re-hang clothes as needed.
Place apparel, wares, shoes, accessories, etc., on the sales floor in the correct location and rotate merchandise.
Adhere to all Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures, including safety and cash handling.
Perform assigned duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
Attend in-service and related training as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
