About The Position

As a part-time Lowe’s cashier, you help customers leave the store satisfied by providing a quick, friendly, and professional checkout experience and helping them get the best value for their money. Most of the work takes place at the register, though you may also answer questions, assist with payments and exchanges, help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed. The role is suited to someone who enjoys helping customers and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. The position does not require regular travel, but occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions vary by location and can include indoor and outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, damp or windy conditions, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Associates follow lifting guidelines, including limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts or powered equipment are used as appropriate, with required training or assistance.

Requirements

Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
Ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law.

Responsibilities

Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area.
Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently.
Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges.
Answer customer questions.
Help maintain a clean, safe workstation.
Complete other duties as assigned.
As needed, help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts.
Travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores, if needed.
