About The Position

This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The Cashier will also assist with promotions, stocking, and training new employees, all while adhering to company policies and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Proficiency in operating a POS system.
• Accurate cash handling skills.
• Understanding of coupon and discount processing.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Willingness to assist with promotions and stocking.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly, friendly, and courteously, offering assistance.
• Operate the POS system for accurate sales data, price, and information codes.
• Handle all cash transactions accurately, including processing coupons and discounts.
• Ensure customers are asked to round up their change for the "Change Round-up" program to support the community mission.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front doors, counters, glass, cases, and the front of the store.
• Return shopping carts, baskets, and unsold merchandise to their appropriate areas.
• Assist with promotions, including customer information, postings, and special sign displays.
• Stock and maintain counter, showcases, and cash/wraps in a neat and clean condition.
• Work safely, adhere to proper handling of material movement equipment, and report safety hazards.
• Assist in training new cashiers.
• Clean dressing rooms and re-hang clothes as needed.
• Place apparel, wares, shoes, accessories, etc., on the sales floor in the correct location and rotate merchandise.
• Adhere to all Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures, including safety practices and reporting hazards/injuries.
• Follow policies regarding theft, pilferage, and cash receipt handling.
• Perform assigned duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
• May participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
• Attend in-service and related training as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
