About The Position

The Cashier is responsible for reporting to work on time, in proper uniform, and with a positive attitude ready to serve guests. This role involves managing cash drawers, completing side duties, maintaining cleanliness of the dining and work areas, and handling guest check settlements. The Cashier also plays a key role in ensuring guest satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service, maintaining menu knowledge, and up-selling products. Additionally, the position requires preparing beverages, ensuring order accuracy for dine-in and to-go orders, and adhering to all safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work on time, as scheduled, in proper uniform with nametag, and with a positive and cooperative attitude ready to serve the guests.
  • Be held accountable for cash drawer and all variances.
  • Complete side duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Check station, clean and set up table tops, clean chairs and sweep the dining area and work area as necessary or assigned.
  • Clear dirty items from assigned tables and stack them properly on tray or bus tubs.
  • Clean and reset any departure table immediately with clean caddy and condiments.
  • Set-up the cash register and the designated workstation.
  • Obtain and distribute all requisitioned supplies, and stock and clean all designated work areas.
  • Handle the settlement of guest checks as either Credit Card or Cash.
  • Strive to obtain the goal of 95% positive guest comments.
  • Refrain from arguing with guests and apologize as appropriate.
  • Prepare deposit envelope at end of shift, listing separately credit cards and cash sales, and deposit it in the drop safe.
  • Report any unusual occurrence to supervisor.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu and be able to answer questions knowledgeably and make recommendations and up-sell products.
  • Pick up kitchen orders as soon as possible to ensure that the food is served at the right temperature.
  • Pick up the correct orders, inspect items to ensure that everything ordered is correct and ready to be served.
  • For “to go” orders, ensure everything ordered is placed in the bag properly and neatly and that the condiments and bag etc. are clean and in good order.
  • Present completed orders to the guest with a smile and appropriate closing remarks.
  • Prepare, in accordance with standard recipes: iced tea, coffee, and any other items as directed.
  • Ensure that no order leaves the kitchen without a printed dupe.
  • Follow all recycling and waste procedures and place all trash, food, and recyclables in the correct receptacles.
  • At the end of the shift, leave workstation clean and ready for the next shift’s team member.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Work safely, following all established safety rules and regulations.
  • Follow all relevant policies and procedures.
  • May be required to participate in daily service operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
