About The Position

This position is responsible for greeting customers, operating the POS system, handling cash transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store. The Cashier also plays a role in customer engagement, assisting with promotions, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety procedures.

Requirements

Ability to greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
Proficiency in operating a POS system.
Skills in cash handling and transaction processing.
Understanding of and ability to promote the "Change Round-up" program.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
Willingness to assist with promotions and merchandising.
Adherence to safety practices and procedures.
Ability to train new employees.
Knowledge of Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures.
Understanding of policies related to theft, pilferage, and cash handling.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner, offering assistance.
Operate the POS system for accurate and efficient sales data entry.
Handle all cash transactions, including processing coupons and discounts.
Promote and manage the "Change Round-up" program to support the community mission.
Maintain cleanliness of the store, including front doors, counters, glass, cases, and shopping cart areas.
Assist with promotions, customer information, postings, and special sign displays.
Stock and maintain counter, showcases, and cash/wraps in a neat and clean condition.
Work safely, adhere to proper equipment handling, and report safety hazards.
Assist in training new cashiers.
Clean dressing rooms and re-hang clothes as needed.
Place apparel, wares, shoes, accessories, etc., on the sales floor in the correct location and rotate merchandise.
Adhere to all Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures, including safety practices and reporting hazards/injuries.
Adhere to policies regarding theft, pilferage, and cash receipt handling.
Perform assigned duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
Attend in-service and related training as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
