About The Position
Foodland Super Market, Ltd. is seeking a Part-Time Cashier to provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for customers. This role involves using computerized cash register systems, handling money, bagging orders, assisting shoppers in finding items, and maintaining the cleanliness of the check stands and surrounding areas. The position requires accuracy, basic math skills, and the ability to memorize product codes and specials. Candidates must be 18 years of age and possess open availability, with evening and weekend availability being strongly preferred. Foodland has been a locally owned and operated business in Hawaii for over 75 years, committed to exceptional service, quality, and innovation.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must successfully pass math test
- Must successfully pass cashier training after hire
- TB Clearance required
- Must comply with all company policies and requirements
- Accuracy and basic math skills are important
- Ability to memorize product identification codes and weekly ad specials

Responsibilities
- Providing fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for customers using computerized cash register systems
- Handling and counting money
- Bagging customers' orders
- Helping shoppers find items in the store
- Assisting in the cleaning and dusting of the check stands and surrounding areas
- Taking "return" products back to proper shelf locations
- Weighing, scanning, and bagging orders
- Performing a cash audit of the contents in assigned cash drawer
- General maintenance, dusting, and cleaning of check stands and surrounding area
- Resolving service and product related customer service issues
- Providing outstanding customer service
- Maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, observing company dress code
- Abiding by all company policies and procedures
- Performing other duties and assignments as directed
