About The Position

This position is responsible for greeting customers, operating the POS system, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store. The Cashier also plays a role in customer engagement for the "Change Round-up" program and assists with promotions and merchandise stocking. Safety and adherence to company policies are paramount.

Requirements

Ability to greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
Proficiency in operating a POS system.
Skills in accurate cash handling and processing coupons/discounts.
Understanding and execution of the "Change Round-up" program.
Ability to maintain cleanliness of store areas.
Willingness to assist with promotions and stocking.
Adherence to safety practices and reporting of hazards.
Ability to assist in training new employees.
Knowledge of Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures.
Ability to follow good safety practices.
Understanding of policies related to theft, pilferage, and cash handling.

Responsibilities

Greeting customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner, offering assistance.
Operating the POS system for accurate sales data, price, and information codes.
Ensuring proper cash handling of all transactions, including coupons and discounts.
Asking customers to round up their change for the "Change Round-up" program.
Cleaning front doors, counters, glass, cases, and the front of the store.
Returning shopping carts, baskets, and unsold merchandise to appropriate areas.
Assisting with promotions, customer information, postings, and special sign displays.
Stocking and maintaining counter, showcases, and cash/wraps in a neat and clean condition.
Working safely, adhering to proper handling of material movement equipment, and communicating safety hazards.
Assisting in training new cashiers.
Cleaning dressing rooms and re-hanging clothes.
Placing apparel, wares, shoes, accessories, etc., onto the sales floor in the correct location and rotating merchandise.
Adhering to all Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures, including safety practices and reporting hazards/injuries.
Adhering to policies regarding theft, pilferage, and handling of cash receipts.
Performing assigned duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
Participating in activities outside of Goodwill as requested.
Attending in-service and related training as assigned.
Performing other duties as assigned.
