The Monson General Store Cashier Part Time
About The Position
The Monson General Store has an opening for a year-round, part-time position. We are looking for friendly individuals with great personalities that can work quickly in a fast-paced environment. The General Store Cashier is responsible for meeting and greeting customers, offering excellent customer service, and cashing customers out accurately and efficiently while keeping the Front End clean, organized, and stocked. This is a part-time position (less than 30 hours/week) that will require closing shifts (working until 7:00 PM) and 1 weekend day of availability (Saturday or Sunday).
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
- Strong customer service and phone etiquette
- Basic knowledge of Pineland Farms and departments
Responsibilities
- Handling money
- Assisting customers in person and over the phone
- Packaging produce and bulk snack inventory
- Basic cleaning tasks such as taking trash out, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down counters.
- Use of knives, box cutters and carts
