Cashier Part Time
About The Position
As a Lowe’s cashier, you help customers leave with a positive experience by providing quick, friendly checkout service and helping them get the best value. Most of the work is at the register, but you may also answer questions, assist with payments and exchanges, and help other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining a clean, safe workstation. Regular travel is not required, although occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor weather, changing temperatures and humidity, noise, and moving or shaking equipment. Associates must follow lifting guidelines; powered equipment may be used when required with proper training or assistance.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Ability to minimally lift 10 pounds unassisted or over 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in the state.
- Follow lifting guidelines, which limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
