About The Position

As a Cashier & Sales Trainee at Brownswood Nursery, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, responsible for welcoming them, providing expert plant advice, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Brownswood Nursery, established in 1978, is Charleston's largest nursery and landscape design-build firm, dedicated to providing excellent service, quality plants, and opportunities for professional development.

Requirements

Outgoing, positive, and collaborative self-starter with a strong work ethic and high integrity.
Excellent communication skills to build friendly rapport with customers and teammates.
Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to guide customers in choosing the "right plant for the right space".
Proficiency with computers and POS systems.
Comfortable with physical outdoor activity (lifting, loading, bending, and moving plant materials/bagged soils).
Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs with assistance/equipment.
Monday through Saturday availability, with Saturday availability being required.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of customer service or retail/wholesale experience.
Horticultural education or practical plant knowledge.
Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers and act as the face of the nursery.
