About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Clerk provides customers with purchase totals, collects payment, and gives accurate change. The role also stocks and displays merchandise, keeps sales areas and the cashier station orderly, assists customers, and supports other store operations as directed. The position reports to the immediate supervisor or assistant manager. It is a part-time, non-exempt position at the Time Square location in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, with any shift and a listed pay range of $16.00 per hour.

Ability to use upper extremities for cash-register operation, clothing handling, cleaning, and organizing.
Ability to operate a cash register.

Responsibilities

Operate the cash register to itemize and total purchases.
Collect customer payments and provide accurate change.
Bag or box merchandise for customers.
Balance cash received against daily cash sales and follow the cashier manual for accuracy and accountability.
Straighten merchandise racks, remove empty hangers, and return merchandise to its proper location.
Keep aisles and floors clear of debris and merchandise, and maintain a clean, neat cashier station.
Display merchandise according to store standards and rotate items on the sales floor or move them to production as requested.
Reduce customer wait times by requesting cashier assistance through the intercom system.
Return unsold priced items to the sales floor and unpriced items and empty hangers to the production area.
Remove debris from shopping carts and return carts to storage; dispose of trash.
Treat customers courteously, answer questions, and provide direction on the sales floor.
Maintain good working relationships with staff members.
Answer incoming telephone calls politely and direct callers to the appropriate person.
Perform other duties and special assignments as directed, including work outside the primary area of employment.
